Geert Dancet Executive Director, European Chemicals Agency, Finland

In March 2004, Mr Dancet was nominated Head of the REACH Unit in the DG Enterprise of the European Commission. This involved taking the REACH proposal through the regulatory process in the Council and European Parliament as well as developing and implementing an interim strategy, including the preparations for the new Chemicals Agency. In December 2007 the ECHA Management Board formally appointed him as the first Executive Director of the Agency for a 5-year term starting 1 January 2008.
