Risto Talja, Phil.Lic. (Physics) works for Paper and Board Machines unit of Metso Paper, Inc., Jyväskylä, Finland. His duties include development of new technologies and energy efficiency. Besides working at Metso Paper, Inc. since 1984, he has been as a visiting research scientist at Paprican in Canada (1993-1995) and at VTT in Finland (1999-2000), given lectures and instructed numerous master’s theses. Mr. Talja has acted as well as an expert in task forces arranged by Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation) and Ministry of Employment and The Economy.
